There may be occasions when you have a short-term condition or experience a short-term injury or hospitalisation before sitting an examination. If you do want to proceed to sit your exam rather than apply for a deferred opportunity, there is an option available to submit a request for temporary exam adjustments. There are two possible routes to follow:

  1. Contact the Student Hub.
  2. If there is a change of circumstances 24 hours (or less) prior to an exam taking place, contact your unit tutor.
  1.

Once the Student Hub or unit tutor submit your details to the Assessment team, they will proceed to implement reasonable adjustments and you will be contacted prior to your exam with further details.

There are various reasonable adjustments that can be implemented depending on the presenting injury or condition. For example, you may have an injury or condition that requires you to take regular pain medication. A reasonable adjustment would be implemented permitting you access to food, drink and medication during an exam.

This process is only applicable to students with short term injuries/conditions. Please note that we cannot process requests for students requesting to sit their exam remotely, or anything that may be covered by the Assessment Mitigation Procedure.

Students who have sufficient medical evidence of a disability but no time prior to the exam to have a Personal Learning Plan appointment can apply for ad-hoc or last-minute (within 72 hours) exam adjustments via the Inclusion and Disability and Counselling, Mental Health, and Wellbeing teams.
