Yes. You can apply for a non-evidenced extension on your assessment (if available), which will give you a short extension without the need for supporting evidence. If you require more time, you can submit an evidenced extension request to gain a longer extension or delay your assessment to the reassessment period (usually at the end of the academic year)

Requests should normally be submitted via the relevant Moodle unit page.  If you have previously hidden the right-hand assessments block, you can unhide it by clicking the Show Blocks button in the top right-hand corner. If you are accessing Moodle via a mobile device, click on the arrow on the centre right-hand side of the page to bring up the assessments block.

Under the Extensions heading you will see two links. The first will tell you whether a non-evidenced extension is available and, if so, how many days you can get an extension for. Please note that non-evidenced extensions only become available 7 days prior to the original deadline date. Directly underneath will be a link to submit a request for a longer evidenced extension request.

In both cases a new window will open with a short form for you to complete.

If you are applying for an evidenced extension, you will need to provide documents that show why you need additional time. Details of acceptable evidence can be found on our Assessments webpage.

You can see a video walkthrough of this process here. If you have any questions about applying for an evidenced extension request, please contact the Student HUB.

If you are an international student, it is very unlikely we will be able to issue a new CAS to cover your extension period unless you are required to attend timetabled classes.  If you have any questions about any implications to your student visa, please contact PBSReporting@mmu.ac.uk
