For undergraduate students, we have two methods for calculating your degree outcomes. We will always apply the classification method that gives you the best outcome for your degree.
Method 1: your average marks from Level 5 and Level 6 (for a full-time UG student, this is second year and third year) are combined. These marks are weighted with Level 5 contributing 25% towards the final mark and Level 6 contributing 75%.
Method 2: only marks from a your final year count towards your degree outcome, which is based on an average mark across the whole level as well as marks in individual units.

If you are a taught postgraduate student, your degree will be a weighted average calculated from your 180 taught credits. The degree classification boundaries are:
- Pass - passed all units
- Merit - at least 60%
- Distinction - at least 70%
