There are two methods for determining your classification, information on these can be found in the Assessment Regulations. Your classification will be decided using whichever method is most beneficial
For undergraduate courses, the degree classification boundaries are:
Method one:
70-100% (First Class)
60-69% (Class Two, Division One - 2:1)
50-59% (Class Two, Division Two - 2:2)
40-49% (Third Class)
Method two:
68% with at least 60 credits with marks ≥ 70% (First Class)
58% with at least 60 credits with marks ≥ 60% (Class Two, Division One - 2:1)
48% with at least 60 credits with marks ≥ 50% (Class Two, Division Two - 2:2)
40% with at least 120 credits with marks of at least 40% (Third Class)
For postgraduate courses, the degree classification boundaries are:
Pass - 50%
Merit - 60%
Distinction - 70%
